JANUARY UPDATE

Not exactly sure what I will do on my blog, but do believe I will explain my website on it this month

Almost at the end of my revamping of my first 500 slideshows on Flickr - this month will have still lifes, locations and things. I do guarantee that they are better than they sound here.

and this month I plan to finish my 2022 blog into its own pdf (last month had 2021 so it is faster this year)

NOVEMBER UPDATE

Busy Month Coming - First I have a work on display at the Art Rentals and will there for the vernissage

add later in the month I have my annual booth at the Montreal West Christmas Fair

My blog will start off with some pictures I took on an LCC field trip to Chinatown

My Flickr slideshows will include a week of eyes and other week’s will be Side by side, transportation and then object series first in portrait then in landscape.

and my collage pdf book will be how I filled this Photo album

OCTOBER UPDATE

Not sure what will be on the blog - getting ready for November shows - or will I take a lot of photos of our next grandchild (picture is of us as proud parents of our first born)

On the slideshow front I have scheduled them all until I am finished which should end sometime in the new year. The weekly themes this month will be architecture, patterns, square crops and Time is Money. My last architecture shot taken (too new for a slideshow)

With my new scanner, the new season of virtual camera club and NFL football I think it will be time to catch up on all my unscanned collage projects. This image is one from the series of triplets from 1970s Seventeen magazine placed on two page spreads from a book on volcanoes

SEPTEMBER UPDATE

The blog is expected to be more images from the cottage and any other ideas I can come up with

The month’s updated slideshows will have a lot of object s - don’t have enough cardboard containers yet but maybe one day

With the problems with my cameras and being away from my computer a lot I am working on creating collages - all new projects as I let the older ones stay in limbo.

AUGUST UPDATE

It is our 50th anniversary high school reunion this month so I expect to take some pictures but I still expect the blog to be primarily images from our cottage and maybe some other interesting things I come across in the city.

This is new building (but it was changed the year after we graduated)

In the slideshows this month the game plan is to go around the world with a week of locations, then interesting text collections, patterns and closeups and ending with a series of slideshows that highlight one object.

My photo project for the month is to try to match all the images in a book I found at the thrift shop “Das Kleine Museum” and eventually print and glue on the left hand side. I will need to add the text to the bottom of my image before printing. Here is one of my first pairings.

JULY UPDATE

No real photo excursions planned so expect the blog to be primarily images from our cottage with assorted diversions.

I will be a little erratic in the slideshows this month as I like to post every day but we are often away at some point during the week and the whole system of one new slideshow every Tuesday with six reworked ones does not seem to be working. Plan is to use light and then do travel and something else if possible.

Even though my daughter would prefer that I don’t touch the images within the book The Most Beautiful Flowers by Pierre J. Redoute, I couldn’t resist when she wasn’t around at the cottage to stop me

JUNE UPDATE

We are visiting my sister in the Catskills for my brother-in-law's birthday party and I expect that I will take some pictures there to post on the blog

In the slideshows this month will start with architectural portrait orientation shows, followed by series of slideshows that highlight one object and then on to animals.

On the collage front this month I married oriental carpets with portraits by Modigliani.

MAY UPDATE

On the blog there should be some images of our Diefenbunker show in Ottawa and our visit to Florida

In the slideshows this month we will use different modes of transportation, a bit of detritus, and some people shows.

I have a number of Linda Rutenberg photographic book in my collection and when I see another copy at the thrift shop I cannot resist as they also make great books to collage into. In May I worked on a copy of her Gaspe book and added vintage cars to the locations.

APRIL UPDATE

We just got back from Paris and finally having taken photos from somewhere else, and consequently there are a lot of posts this month from there

On the Flickr Slideshow 2.0 front - There will be statues and people

I finally will have to finish my gold collages as they are needed by the end of the month for a show

March Update

——————————————————————————————————————————

Revisiting Guadeloupe on the blog, after a week of showing some of the collage projects I have been working on

This month’s slideshows will include architecture in portrait mode, objects in square format and variations on the tree theme.

in my collage work I sidetracked to do some Adam and Eve’s getting expelled into the harsh world of fine art photography

FEBRUARY UPDATE

My blog relying heavily on a couple of local walks - too bad I am no longer that interested in thrown out couches

On the slideshow front I have been reworking my Valentine’s slideshows for one of the weekly series - up next walls

on the collage front - I just finished a book project where I covered certain texts with floral still lifes and added a painted woman into the orchid photographs

January Update

My daily blog relied heavily on one walk I took during a snowstorm

On the homefront I continued my documentation of our Christmas ornaments

Among the topics on the daily Flickr update of slideshows was driving and what gets driven on

the Lightroom plug in that is giving me a new way to look at / arrange my images in the catalog

my latest collage project - a book on New York buildings combined with statues

December Update

We went to our three season cottage to take stuff home that shouldn’t be left there over the winter

Other topics for my daily blog came from our family visit to Illumi

My daily slideshows accumulated all my Christmas slideshows over the years to make my own 12 days of Christmas

My current collage project is about copies and their inexactitude in reproduction

November Update

My annual sale after missing last year due to Covid

my blog main event was a grunge walk with the Lakeshore Camera Club

on the homefront our niece found an old photo album of ours at her parent’s place so I scanned our 1997 family pictures

continuing my upgrading of my slideshows that I post daily on Flickr - each week I have a theme - one of those in November was colours.

Status Update Month of August

Living with a full plate, I have once again let updating my website falter. A lot of the individual tabs get updated automatically , but one may not see that when landing here. So another stab at a synopsis.

The big event so far is August 13th blog post of my 100th slide show updated to what I am calling 2.0

For my Camera Club I am working on a short presentation to be given in September on photographing in the suburbs - and using my trusty stock of couch images to illustrate how wherever you are is the best place to photograph

without any travel lately, my daily blog has been a hodge podge of my walks in the country, to my local thrift shop, some other walks down memory lane and other local sightings. I call this image “Lying down on the job”

in my collage work I am adding the images of Hungarian costumes into a local photographer’s book

Status Update Week of July 1

In Flickr I have continued my Slideshows 2.0 where I have been updating all my slideshows to certain criteria, one being all exactly one minute long. At some point I intend to make a pdf that will link to all the slideshows, but like everything else I seem to not make enough time. This week’s theme is Square slideshows with each day representing a different type

Architecture is the day’s theme

I uploaded my 2019 book of all my blogposts from 2019 that you can download and look at your leisure

on my daily blog just using things that i see on my walks - cannot wait to travel. The image above wasn’t used but I like that it is a circle and that nature is claiming back its territory
