periodically walk down and
take pictures of the graffiti.
They seem to get updated often.
Now after someone was killed
in Montreal over a graffiti tag,
I wonder if I have
to worry about discovering a body...

New Fascination with babies (Brenin)
Recently a niece and nephew both had babies. I really didn't take too
many photos of my own children; but now seem more ready. After a
number of years when babies didn't interest me they seem so cute!
Maybe I am getting mentally prepared to be a grandfather.
Eggleston Influence
Have been looking at a lot of William Eggleston's photos
recently. I wonder if I would have taken this picture otherwise?
New Season Upon Us
Although I haven't got my bike out yet, this hasn't prevented
me from continuing my abandoned couch series. This
year on the advice of Peter McCabe I will concentrate on
environmental portraits

First Purchaser
friend David that thirty or so years ago I sold my first photo.
I don't think he expected me to stop for 25 years! I recently
had sent my slides to be scanned in India (scancafe) and
I wondered if I could remember what I sold him. Couldn't -
so I have posted a photo of him from that time.
Next time I see him I will have to ask if he remembers.
Freeman Patterson on CBC Ideas
As you may know I follow a number of podcasts, one of them being CBC Best of Ideas. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they had a show dedicated to Freeman Patterson. I recommend listening to it. He is not your normal photographer; as he has a Master of Divinity Degree

I am the Camera - The Lure of Text
In looking at photographs we all know that the eye is the
first thing we are directed to. It is not so obvious with text
; but I catch myself reading whatever is there. Found this
one interesting that the first part of the word camera
looks like I am -

I found some similarities in the doors even though one is the main entrance and the other....

Judicious use of text
At a recent Lakeshore Camera Club competition one of the judges commented on how he felt a certain title on one of the pictures gave too much information and yet in another case said it was very useful to see a title to the work. Just another skill that is required to be a photographer!
